MDV History

History

Miami Data Vault, housed in the former BellSouth facility, is a rock-solid bunker-style colocation facility. The building originally was built in 1929 and further expanded in 1959. The entire facility was completely retrofitted in 1999, with continuous upgrades implemented annually. Every wire, pipe, and infrastructure component was replaced during the retrofit. All systems are state-of-the-art, delivering reliable power, consistent air conditioning, and network connectivity in a secure environment. Also, since we are located on the ‘Miami Ridge’ above the Miami-Dade County 500-year floodplain, flooding is never a concern. MDV is well outside of the county’s hurricane evacuation zone, as well. Our customers have full access to the building, even during the most severe weather conditions. MDV has withstood the test of time, a testament to the reliability of the base structure, one of the cornerstones of our success.
